and a single exist exhaust would be nice for my tiny engine

Single exit wouldn’t be too hard, it splits somewhere in the middle.

need that JDM rear bumper for its single exit style. Or probably just some sort of lip to cover up the unfilled hole

Just mspaint it and fake it.

That looks really good!
Does anyone make a filler piece of the bumper? Or have you looked into that lower bumper? I wonder if it just clips in to the main part of the bumper, it might be fairly easy to swap out, if you can get the part.

pretty sure its a different bumper, as the non-US ones had a 2.0L engine and single exhaust. I think the US one only got a 2.4L and twin exhaust to help it compete in the US market where bigger is better.

Ahh, my mistake. Looking at the picture it looks like a separate lower trim piece that’s inset into the bumper. But if it’s all one piece, then yeah, you’re gonna have to get a new bumper.

Twin exhaust tips are usually just for style, it’s gotten ridiculous. The routing of some of them is nonsensical underneath the car. Like 5 bends away from the resonator just to say you’ve got a second tip. For a single bank of cylinders...

so dumb. and on a cold day when the exhaust is blowing condensing clouds, you can tell one of the exhausts is barely doing anything.

So my dream of fabricating dual side pipes on my 4cyl Transit Connect is nonsensical?

I’m into that.
